Paving styles, choices and material types have changed a lot over the years. Here at R.M.W Landscapes we have laid all variety's from traditional natural paving through to hard wearing porcelain. As with all things there's pro's and con's to each material type.
Indian Sandstone is one of the most popular paving choices that we lay. Indian Sandstone is incredibly hard wearing, long lasting and can be found in a multitude of shapes, sizes, patterns and colours. It features a general riven surface that provides good grip in the wet but smooth enough to walk bare foot on. Being a natural product it does require a little more maintenance than its man made rials but there are plenty of products to seal and protect it keeping it in tip top condition.
Indian Sandstone products also feature a mass of matching garden items such as edging setts, walling bricks, coping stones and cladding to keep the theme flowing throughout the garden.
Other natural products include Limestone, Slate, Granite and Yorkstone
Porcelain Paving is newer to the outdoor market, having only really become popular in the last 10 years. Its man made from clay, sand and minerals and then baked at a high temperature.
Its hard wearing like a natural product but also scratch resistant, heat resistant, slip resistant and non-porous meaning it needs very little maintenance.
Porcelain paving generally comes in one or two sizes and has a more limited pattern range and colour preference. That said it provides a modern look, with a sleeker design and can easily brighten the smallest of gardens.
